Today I went out on a date with a woman Eliezra─a granddaughter of the illustrious German Jewish banker. Against the uniform Eastern spiritual teachings, I arrived with expectation of class-act, and as such I failed to connect with the class-act that this woman named Eliezra is potentially. As I explicated in a later conversation with my dear mother situated in New York City, I just couldn’t feel present with this woman: everything felt forced; we shared common interests, yet couldn’t seem to share commonality. I did appreciate her beauty; the gleam refracted from her piercing blue eyes; the rotund features of her distinct jaw bone−chiseled face; the nape mounting her Victorian neck. Through it all, we just didn’t connect. In response to her inquiry as to my dating experience back in America, I recollected several women I met. When on our first dates, they would declare how much they deplored dating. To which I interpreted to Eliezra: why would a woman disclose such brutal honesty on a chance encounter…? And then I commented: Well, you might want to run that one by your therapist before. She smiled in jest. We parted on fairly common terms, nothing out of the ordinary for a first date; I then stated by resolute adieu I had a nice time, I would love to do this again−
I would like to think about this more, she replied, but I would like to help you transition into Israeli life…you know help olim, as you mentioned…
